WE NEED
A THOUSAND
JOAN SMALLS
TO CHANGE
THE FASHION WORLD

WE SALUTE DESIGNER TOM FORD
AND RICCARDO TISCI WHO USE
A DIVERSE RANGE OF MODELS
IN THEIR SHOWS BUT SADLY
THESE DESIGNERS ARE NOT THE NORM
JOAN SMALL LOOK-A-LIKES
AND THE ETHNIC NEED TO JOIN
FORCES WITH THE CAUCASIAN
AND ROCK THE FASHION WORLD

   Supermodel Joan Smalls in an
   interview revealed in Harper's
   Bazaar that she was repeatedly
told by agents that 'there's room
   for only one model of'colour'
I tend to disagree, to change racial
diversity on the runway we need a
   thousand Joan Small's
This is not about filling a quota. It's
about sending an all-white cast down
the runway, they are promoting an
ideal of beauty that does not include
the majority of the population and
this is so wrong and problematic
   from a business perspective
We cannot only use Caucasian girls
ignoring the fact that we have a huge
   African American, Asian and African
   global market
Joan Small's is only an example
